Alia's Pinkalicious 4th Birthday

Alia turned 4 years old on January 23rd. I can't believe how fast the years are going. This birthday was the first one where she really had an input on how she wanted to celebrate her special day. For one, we decided to only invite her girlfriends from preschool since those are the people she plays with and wants to be around the most. Since it was going to be a small, personalized party, we invited everyone over our house for a Pinkalicous cupcake decorating party (total 9 girls).

Since she was 2, Alia has loved the Pinkalicious book character about a little girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. I modeled the cupcake decorating party from the Teacake Bake Shop birthday parties we hold so it was easy for me to put the plan in place. Each girl had their own little rolling pin, mat and 3 colors of fondant where they cut and rolled out various shapes to decorate with sprinkles on top. Then they frosted cupcakes and placed their decorations on top.

Each girl had a cupcake apron which I had leftover from Teacake supplies (it really helps to own a bakery for this theme!). Of course Teacake provided the cupcakes (pink of course) but not only that, they made Alia and amazing "cupcake cake" with a custom fondant Pinkalicious model on top The back side had her name on it. They did such an amazing job, the cake was a hit at the party.

Tim and I decorated our dining area full of pink pom-poms and did a little pink candy bar. The party favors were a pinkalicious mini book, necklace and wand. Everyone got to take their aprons and cupcakes home.

Alia was so excited the days leading up to the party and the day of. It was a lot of work but worth it to see her so happy. Since her birthday was on a Wed, we had a little family celebration at home with just ice cream cake and the four of us (first few photos below) and then the party on Sat.

Here is a also a fun slideshow of the party pics.
