Alia loves building sand castles so we sometimes go to a small nearby beach (Alameda beach) which is literally 15 minutes away. It's not a large or "pretty" beach, but it's easy to get to and has shallow waters and a small sandshore perfect for toddlers. It's a great afternoon thing to do that is not super involved. We've been there before when warmer, but this time we headed out towards sunset when it was a bit chillier just for some sand time.
The first time we went there, Kian was scared to even put his feet in the sand. I had to hold him the whole time. A month later, he was comfortable to get on the sand and pick at it. It was funny to see him explore. I didn't get a picture of this, but he would climb up the slope of sand and fall down and kept doing it over and over again.
Alia was not in a picture taking mood that day so these are mainly of Kian, who really seemed to enjoy getting to know the beach this time around.
