This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I picked up Alia a bit early so we could make some mini Lime Yogurt Cakes. I found this easy recipe for French Lemon Yogurt cake on Bon Appetit and adjusted it using limes since that's all we had. So easy to make and Alia had fun too. She has two teachers in the morning and two in the afternoon.
A bit of random and funny story - so Alia has sort of a clever kind of humor. It's hard to explain unless you're with her all the time, but she'll sometimes say something she knows is kind of funny and then give you this wry and knowing look. Then she'll bust out laughing like the joke is on you.
Case in point, I was asking her who her afternoon teachers' names were since they sometimes differ and she kept giving me all these random names she was making up and not taking my question seriously. I finally asked her more sternly, "Alia what are your afternoon teachers' names?" and she gave me that wry look and replied "I think NOT Olga." Then she busted out laughing.
So to explain, Olga was one of her first teachers back in her first school. The school she is at right now is her second school so of course Olga would not be her teacher now. She knew that though and thought it was hilarious to answer in a way that still answered the question but had a clever twist to it.
It might not be funny just reading about it (maybe you just had to be there), but this had me busting out laughing with her as well. She's kind of developing into a class clown type of person which is neat to see.
