Alia was my little helper and it was so much fun. She helped me match up the seed packet colors with the right pots, poured the seeds in, and packed it in with spoons. Afterwards, we put plastic wrap over the pots (that's what the instructions says) and left them outside our backyard. In 7-10 days we should see them sprout! Can't wait. I've only planted when the flower or vegetable was in bloom so this was my first attempt at growing seeds. After the seeds grow to big for the tiny pots, you're supposed to transfer them to bigger ones, over and over to bigger containers as they grow. There were some really cool seeds like Cosmo, Pansies, Sweet Pea and Baby's Breath to name a few. Here are just a few of my fave pics of the kids just taken with my phone and our seed project. I had a good birthday :)

Mommy's Birthday
My birthday was Friday and it was low key and nice. Tim took me out to dinner without the kids and then we came back for cake with them. It's nice that Alia is at the age she can really understand birthdays now. She even made me a card from school this year which I saved. I also got a really cool gift from Auntie Nat and cousins Kayli and Nick (if you're reading this, thanks guys!). The gift was a Year of Seeds which was a box that came ready with 12 different seedling packets, matching pots, and peat. All you had to do was soak the peat pellets overnight, add them to the pots along with the seeds.
