First Graduation

Alia had her first graduation at preschool. She was in her "Tadpoles" class, comprised of 10 children and they all graduated in June. Next year she will be in the "Lovebirds" class, for 4 year olds. They kids had a performance where they sang two songs: Make New Friends and Heads Should Knees and Toes in Spanish. Then each child's name was called out and they got a certificate, lei and a hug.

I was proud of Alia because unlike the Winter Recital, she sang the whole way through and didn't cry out for me, even though she saw me in the audience. She's definitely growing up and maturing at the same time.

Although I know this will not be her most important graduation, it is her first which makes it extra special. I also took photos of her school friends. I know every single one by name. I see first hand how she is becoming socially aware and making her own friends - which is all a part of growing up. I look at these photos and think how worlds away she is from being a baby, then a toddler. How much school has taught her and how much she's learned and grown the past year.

Congrats to my big girl Alia! Wishing you many more graduation to come.
