School Art Show

Alia had her school art show yesterday. It was her second one, the first being at her first school when she was two. This is her second school and she's now 3. Her class (the tadpoles) made these napkin rings and painted/framed their feet. There was also a silent auction to raise money for things like planting vegetable beds. All the kids were running crazy and wild outside and inside the gym where the show was.

Alia hung out with some of her classmates (the Tadpoles) and it was so cute so see them calling each other's names, holding hands, etc. She's been bugging me to set up a playdate with her best friend Abigail and we haven't really done that before. But now seeing how she loves being around her own friends and making them on her own (vs. hanging out with our friends and their kids) I will make an effort to set these up for her. It makes me happy to see her grow up and be socially happy and active.

I always make slideshows for these types of things because Alia loves watching them over and over again (and now Kian does too) and I've found it's a more dynamic way for them to remember things they did in the past. Also so much easier than posting individual pics. Here's one from her dance recital and art show (ps. yes, I know the song is super old and random, but I get them from Tim's old mp3 files on this computer which only has old song. Plus who doesn't like George Michael?).

  2. Very cute! I'm diggin' the song. Alia is so lucky that you are so great with photography, she's gonna have tons of memories to look back on when she's older!
