Vegas in 36 hours

Last weekend was Tim's grandmother Po-Po's 90th birthday, a huge milestone. All of Tim's uncles and aunts and immediate family decided to meet up in Vegas for a celebration. We decided to just go from Fri early afternoon to Sat night. A short 36 hours, but with two kids 3 yrs and under, any kind of traveling is hard and plus we really wanted an extra day on Sun to recuperate before starting the work week again. Coming back Sat night ended up working out since last minute I had to work on Sunday anyways.

Kian came down with a 103 degrees unexplained fever the two days before we left and the doctor didn't find any reason why. I struggled and considered canceling Thurs night but his fever went down Fri morning so off we went. During the one day we were there, Tim came down with chills and fever. Alia had tantrum after tantrum and it was disruptive to their schedule being there for such a short time. Tim was sick and we were both cranky and tired. So we decided no more short trips like this until the kids are older.

The good news is that we got to say happy birthday to Po-Po and Tim's far away aunts and uncles finally got to meet the kids. They were so nice to all of us. Tim's parents helped us out a ton by having car seats already installed and shuttling us back and forth and letting us nap in their room since we had to check out of ours in the morning and flight wasn't until later.

Since it was so short a trip, we didn't get any photos of any of the Vegas sites, but only these ones at the hotel. I asked Tim to take some of me and the kids - I realize I have none since I'm always taking them. I got a great reminder by reading something recently that made me think that one day, the kids will not be so young and I don't want to look back and not see any photos of me or Tim with them.
