Our Kauai vacation - hotel and pool

We recently went to Kauai with both kids for a week. Tim' s parents kindly agreed to join us for 5 of 7 days so we could get some relief from watching the kids 24/7. We rented a 3 bedroom villa on the sunny side of Poipu beach which we got as a great deal from LivingSocial, not to mention that Tim's company paid for it since he had won a marketing award a while back for full travel anywhere within a certain amount which this trip covered.

We haven't been on vacation in over 2 years and the last time was to Maui when Alia was just 9 months (she is turning 3 this Mon btw).

Since it was Tim's parent's first time going, we did lots of touring of the island as well as some fun beach and pool time for the kids. It was so nice and relaxing to get away from the grind and also have some help in the meantime, not to mention, spending time with the parents which we do not get to do often.

The kids did overall great on the flights there and back and adjusting to the 2 hr time zone. Sure, the travel days were long and sometimes stressful, but they exceeded my expectations. I guess I was expecting the worse with 2 little ones. Kian is only 10 months, but he lived up to his "dream baby" status which is what I call him and did so well. That little guy doesn't let anything faze him and is full of smiles and giggles all the time.

Of course I took a gazillion photos, about 500 which I edited to 150. I'm going to break down our trip in terms of activities so here it is. The first post on our Kauai trip.

This post is about lounging and enjoying the resort we stayed in, The Wyndham Koloa Landing. Awesome accommodations with full kitchen and amenities. We took advantage of the pool and full kitchen by cooking almost all our breakfast and lunches inside.

We created a little crawling area since Kian is starting to go everywhere. Pretty funny, the kids were pretty much stuck in that square part of the living room each time we lounged inside.

If you want to go ahead and see all the 150 photos I edited instead of waiting for the following posts. Here you go:
