Cooking Club Lunch

A couple of Sundays ago, I was invited to the French Laundromat's New Orleans themed lunch! What is the French Laundromat? It's a cooking club Mama, Dada and their friends started where once a month there is a theme and dish assignment. There is also homework where you have to cook other's people's dishes and then blog about your experience on a shared blog. The first theme was French Bistro but that was held at night at our house when I was sound asleep, past 8pm. I was excited this time because I was invited to the second meetup since it was lunch!

I got to feast on Oysters Rockefeller (spinach and cheese for me only, hold the oysters), Louisiana Deviled Crab Cakes (Mama and Dada's dish!) with homemade tartar sauce, Crawfish Etoufee, and last, but best of all (in my opinion), Bittersweet Chocolate Pecan Pie!

I've never had these exciting flavors before. What a treat. As you can tell in the picture below, I got to sit with everyone and had my own high chair. I also got to meet Baby Quinn who was born just two weeks ago and is one of Mama and Dada's cooking club friends' newborn baby. Next theme is a barbecue and it's going to be at our house, also lunch! I can't wait to see what dishes I'll be tasting that day!

Here I am (at least the back of my head) with my yellow sippy cup.

Oysters Rockefeller (I loved the spinach and cheese topping)
