On Thurs, it was just our family and on Fri night, two more family joined us, one with kids so it was great for Alia to get some play time.
The place we stayed at was a comfortable ranch style home, not too fancy but very homey with all the amenities any family would need.
The most amazing and beautiful part was the view. The house had a wrap-around deck with 360 degree views of the vineyard it's on.
Luckily we had no rain this weekend and it was a crisp, cool, fall day. Not too cold with just a bit of sun. It was so amazing to see the leaves so vibrant. You really felt the essence of fall.
We had a good time just eating and relaxing. The first night was tough with Alia not wanting to sleep in the bed and plus she came down with yet another cold! This would be her second cold in addition to the HFMD in just one month. Luckily, she slept well Fri night and was back to her old self. Still with a cold and runny nose, but at least the eating and sleep were okay.
We hung out mainly at the house and brought a bunch of arts and crafts which the kids enjoyed. Our last day, Sat, we headed to Healdsburg square which is just a mile away to eat at a delicious brunch place called the Barn Diva. After walking about for a couple hours, we headed home.
Healdsburg is only an hour and fifteen minutes away but it really felt like we were someplace far and away. This gave us a good taste of what it would take to travel with two kids. For just two nights, I felt like we had to pack for a week! So many bags and luggage, etc. I guess that's what it takes.
Kian did so awesome on the trip. He's really turning out to be the sweetest baby. He slept and ate well the entire trip and hardly ever cried (in general that's what he's like at home, but you never know how they are away).
I would definitely love to go back to Healdsburg, maybe in the late summer when we can enjoy bbq-ing outdoors and taking advantage of that amazing deck.
