Labor Day Weekend

Grandma and Grandpa Hsu came to visit this past weekend and as always they provided much needed relief from the kids. Grandma basically took care of Kian the whole wekend which was helpful as Tim and Grandpa spent much of their time converting Tim's huge walk in closet in our bedroom into part of Kian's nursery (I guess the second kid always gets the shaft). We'd love to give Kian his own room and not have to share it with a closet, but unfortunately, we don't have a spare bedroom. Luckily the room within our room is a nice large wooden room that is cozy enough for a nursery. Since Tim will really have to be organized about his clothes now, we also got these handy laundry baskets for him to neatly put his clothes away separated by 'Clean", "Darks", and "Whites." Hopefully no more clothes on the floor.

This particular room within a room also had no door, so Grandpa installed a door for us which actually sounds easier than stated. He had to sand, finish, paint, install hinges, make sure it fit correctly, sand some more. Grandpa also put the crib together and installed new doorknobs on 6 of our doors. Whew! Thanks Grandpa, for making our home a better place to live, and Grandma for watching the kids. Okay when can you come visit again? :)

Kian's favorite bedtime bear which used to be Alia's.

I know mobiles are not necessary and short-lived in a baby's life, but I felt guilty about Kian sharing a closet with Tim so at the last minute, I bought this goofy animal mobile. It's the first toy I've ever bought just for him!

Tim painstakingly put this "peel and stick" tree together and when he finished, Alia kept repeating "you did a good job Daddy, you did a good job!"

My favorite part of the room are these laundry baskets. HAHA.
